REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Monday, June 18, 2007, 5:30 p.m.

 

PRESENT: Hilda Chavez, Melissa Chavez (Absent), Michael Keenan, Alicia Klimpke, Maria Lesure (Absent), Liz Lewis (Absent), Rachel Pruneda, Esmeralda Tellner, Adela Zepeda, and Edith Zepeda, Michael Zepeda (Absent)

Our meeting was held at the Long Island Sound Banquet and Conference Center.  We discussed the following topics:

REUNION INFO:  Our reunion will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 5:30 to 12:00 a.m.  (Cocktails 5:30-6:30) (Dinner 7 p.m.)   Cost per person is $65.00 or $125 per couple (includes 4 hours of open bar).

PRE-REUNION PARTY:  Join us for the Pre-Reunion Party on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 7 p.m. to close at Fox & The Hound.

WEBSITE:  Our website has grown to approximately 77 registered members.  Please forward any information you would like posted on our website to Michael Zepeda.  He would appreciate it if you could have it formatted and worded exactly how you would like posted.  Thanks!

INVITES:   Approximately 300 invitations have been mailed out.  If you still have not received yours, please feel free to contact Edith Zepeda via email.  

RSVP DATE: Our RSVP Date has been extended to August 1, 2007.  In order to get more people to confirm, we will give people an option to have their check deposited at a later date.  If you’re interested in doing this, please write in the memo section of your check DEPOSIT ON AUGUST 13th.  However if you do not write this on your check, funds will be deposited immediately.

MENU:  Our dinner menu will be as follows:  Carved Beef, Lemon Tequila Grilled Chicken Breast w/Chef Choice Sauce, Tortilla Soup, Mixed Green Salad, Au Grant Potatoes, Grilled Vegetables, Cheese Tray, Potato Salad, Morocco Mandarin Orange Salad, Bowtie Pasta, Roasted Corn Bean Salad, Rainbow Salad, Kidney Bean Salad, and Three (3) Chef Choice Desserts.

OPEN BAR:  We have decided to include four (4) hours of open bar at no additional cost!  So if          So if you’re not that comfortable with seeing everyone, have a drink or two, or three, or
four……..

DEEJAY:  We have confirmed the deejay for $350 (excluding tax & gratuity). 

SOLICITING BUSINESSES:  We are asking every member on the committee to solicit goods/gift cards, etc. from local businesses.  Donations will be used to make gift baskets.  Every member is responsible for bringing in two (2) items.  If there’s a business, spa, nail salon, pizza parlor you frequent, please call them to see if they’d like to contribute. 

DECORATIONS:  Hilda will provide bud vases and red flowers for the tables.

DOWNTOWN ALIVE:  We had a guest tent at Downtown Alive on Friday, June 22nd.  We handed out water bottles and candy.  I think the big hit of the night was definitely the class picture that was on display for all to see.  I think every Aurora Police Officer on duty came by to see fellow Officer Guillermo “Memo” Trujillo’s picture from back in the day.  Sorry Memo, but it was hilarious.  I think it was unanimous, we all liked the permed hair!  A big thanks to Edith, Maria, Mike K., Liz & Chris Lewis for your help in planning  for this event.  We had a great time!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?  If you plan on attending, please mail us your response cards as soon as possible.  Also, encourage other grads to join us.  It’ll be a great time – I certainly hope that more people will decide to come.  If you are not interested in attending, please tell us why?  We’re interested in hearing some feedback.
